Media for backup targets and getting a copy offsite

To follow the 3-2-1 rule, you need to use at least two different types of storage media, and at least one of the three copies you have must be stored offsite. And by offsite, that doesn’t mean in the building across the street. It needs to be far enough away so that if there’s a hurricane, flood, earthquake or some other natural disaster, it won’t also be caught in the blast radius and destroyed, leaving you with no backups at all.
